Events in Vero Beach: Thunder on the Beach Powwow and Native American Experience

Today, there aren’t many opportunities for people to experience Native American heritage. But between February 14th and February 16th, you can attend an event that will give you a chance to experience the culture for yourself. Learn about one of the events in Vero Beach you should attend.

Thunder on the Beach Powwow and Native American Experience

In February, the Indian River County Fairgrounds will be the site of the Thunder on the Beach Powwow and Native American Experience. Sponsored by the Florida Indian Heritage Association, the event has been taking place for 55 years.

During the event, you can enjoy Native American food, dancing, music, and art. There will be vendors from all over the United States. You can watch drummers play tunes that shake your soul or dancers move in unique ways. On Saturday night, there will be a live auction.

You can spend the day or bring a tent and stay overnight. It’s a family-friendly event and a great way to expose your children to a rich culture. Tickets cost $8 for adults (if purchased in advance). Meanwhile, tickets for children between the ages of seven and 14 are $5 and children six and under are free.
