Vero Beach is a great place to go to explore the outdoors. If you want to see the area for all of its majestic nature, then you should check out the Environmental Learning Center. Find out everything that you should know about this one of the Vero Beach attractions.
Exploring This One of the Vero Beach Attractions
The Environmental Learning Center is located on a 64-acre preserve. On the land, there is over 1 ½ miles of raised wood boardwalk. This gives you the unique opportunity to explore nature without being in full hiking gear. One of the challenges of exploring local nature is the swampy land and potentially dangerous wildlife. However, the boardwalk eliminates the challenges. You can get up close and personal with nature from the comfort and safety of a boardwalk.
Along the trail, you can view a lagoon and get some beautiful views. You can also rent a canoe or go on a pontoon boat ride.
If you want to learn about the local wildlife, then visit the interactive museum. There are aquariums and hands-on exhibits. A 145-gallon touch tank brings you close to the local marine life. Check out a butterfly garden or have a picnic outdoors. Then, stop by the gift shop for a souvenir or two. The museum is full of information about the history and wildlife of the area.
