On June 16, 2018, the McKee Botanical Gardens will host the 14th Annual Waterlily Celebration. As one of the best Vero Beach events, the celebration is worth attending. From 8:30 am until 2:00 pm, you can explore the gardens and learn about the plants.
Since the early 1900s, waterlilies have been an integral part of the botanical gardens. There are more than 80 species of waterlilies represented in the many acres of land. With over 400 waterlilies on the grounds, the gardens has a lot to see. You can view their bright blooms and take in their fresh fragrances.
The celebration brings crowds of photographers and artists to the gardens. Experts are on hand to share their impressive knowledge about the plants. Additionally, you can view the plants for sale and participate in a waterlily photo contest. Anyone (including children) can enter the contest; it’s a great opportunity to test your photography skills. All of the entries must come from waterlilies located in the botanical gardens.
